The program begins at 9:00 am with a welcome from staff and volunteers. Members may bring a lunch or order lunch when they arrive. Prices range from $2 to $3. Snacks, coffee and water are available throughtout the morning.
Socialization: These groups play cards, have discussions or just visit.
Re-Learning: This group, taught by a credentialed teacher with volunteer help; assists with reading, writing and speech activities. There is also a one-on-one computer program for assisting the aphasic stroke survivor.
Current Events: This is a discussion group that is led by a volunteer.
Caregiver Support: This discussion group is led by a certificated facilitator and offers help and resources in coping with the everyday issues that confront caregivers.
Circle Time: This time is devoted to exercise, welcoming new members and visitors, making announcements of upcoming events, celebrating milestones, birthdays, or other special events. Entertainment or educational programs take up the main portion of circle time.
Lunch and Socialization: Lunchtime offers a great opportunity to make new friends, visit with old friends, or just take needed rest from the activities.
Stroke Support Group: A certificated facilitator leads the group in discussions and provides information to the stroke survivor in coping with the everyday issues that may occur, This is an excellent place to hear and share problems and solutions associated with after stroke recovery.
